The CabWire conference returns to Düsseldorf with a formidable collection of speakers

The 7th biennial Cabwire World Conference is set to return to Düsseldorf, Germany, on 3 November with a formidable collection of speakers in both ferrous and non-ferrous sectors of the industry.

Keynote speaker Dr Klaus Probst of Leoni AG examines factors for sustainable international growth. He leads an international line-up, including speakers from C Tech Corp, India; Ceeco Bartell, Canada; FIB Belgium; FMS Force Measuring Systems AG, Switzerland; Innovites BV, Netherlands; Maschinenfabrik Niehoff GmbH, Germany and Italy’s SAMP SpA.

In the non-ferrous programme Rob Daniels, principal consultant, CRU wire & cable team talks about recent developments in the global cable industry and the future outlook, and includes papers on foam insulation in cable extrusions; the manufacture of compact conductors; revolutionising wire manufacture, and subsea cables and the benefits of pure XLPE materials.

Topics in the ferrous sessions include the design and simulation of rolled-profile wires; the evolution of vanadium in high-carbon steel during wire drawing; new tungsten dies for drawing zinc-coated wire; an energy-efficient drive system for winding machinery; heat-resistant colour coatings for a new generation of spring wires, and the use of steel strip, shaped wire and round wire in the production of umbilical cable and submarine cable.

“This non-profit event is subsidised by key industry associations,” said Peter Large, IWMA technical sub-committee chairman. “That’s why we can keep the cost to only €175.00 per delegate. This is one of the most stimulating programmes ever presented at Cabwire. It is a ‘must-attend’ industrial technology event for all wire and cable professionals - a great opportunity to learn about the latest industry innovations.”

The one-day conference will be held at the Congress Center, Düsseldorf, Germany. Registration forms, exhibition information and sponsorship packages are available on the CabWire World Conference website.

Table top displays are going to complement the conference. Expometals.net, as well as August Strecker, Niehoff, Pan Chemicals, Queins Machines, SAMP Spa, TKT Group and others will be exhibiting at the event.
