We interviewed Mr Jonas Hagstedt and Ms Mathilda Hagstedt, Managing Director and Marketing Manager of Lamnea Bruk, Swedish supplier of machines for the wire industry, asking them to take stock of the year's progress and to make some predictions on the near future.
- How was the year 2012 so far for Lamnea Bruk?
The year 2012 has been a great year and an important year as we have reached new market shares.   - What do you expect from the near future and on what projects will you be working?
We have launched  this summer our new forming mill for flux core wire line which is a project we have with Formtek. We have also launched our new design of our drawing machine, a straight line which has no impact on the wire for a better wire quality. These two projects have so far hit the market very well, with the brilliant compact design and easy safety regulations. We will continue next year to work on these two projects.
We have also put up in the company a new service department, where we have gathered all service for the machines together, such as normal service, start up for machines, spare parts and reparations. This will help us to find and solve problems much faster.
  - Where do you want your company to be in 10 year's time?
In 10 year’s time our goal is to have a delivery precision of 100%, 20% of our staff members will be women and we will have a profit of 10% per year.   
- What role do foreign markets have for you? Is there some new market you'll be trying to reach?
The foreign markets are very important to us, most of our machines are exported. We are always working hard to get new market shares. This year we’ve been focusing to reach India, Asia, Eastern Europe, North and South America.
  - If you could say three adjectives to define your company, which ones would you choose?
Service minded, quality focused & knowledgeable.
  - Tell us one reason why a company should choose your machines. What makes you different?
At Lamnea we have always worked hard to provide the best services for our customers. Service for our machines is very important for us and that is why we put in a modem connection in all our machines, which allows us to go online from Sweden for service or trouble shooting of the machine.
- What importance do fairs have for Lamnea Bruk? Which are the next scheduled ones?
The fairs are an important place to us to get out our name and meet the customers on the field. It is a perfect meeting room with all from the wire business. You get a feeling where the market is and where it’s going. You are able to meet new customers, get the word from the business and strengthen the relationships with existing customers.
Next year we have Interwire in April, the Wire Show in Bangkok and Essen Messe in September scheduled.
  - Which means do you use to find new customers?
We meet many new customers through the fairs. There are many customers who heard about our company and our machines, who like to take personal contact at the fairs.
