The “Bright World of Metals” returns to Düsseldorf in Germany from June 16 to 20. The trade fair quartet consists of: GIFA (dedicated to foundry), METEC (the metallurgy fair), THERMPROCESS (specializing in thermal process technologies) and NEWCAST (devoted to castings).

In total, 2,124 exhibitors are going to present their latest technology innovations occupying 12 halls of the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre, with a new record of exhibition space: 84,706 square meters.
A development like this cannot be taken for granted, according to Messe Düsseldorf director Friedrich-Georg Kehrer, because company takeovers and mergers would actually justify stagnation or even a reduction in the number of exhibitors and square meters of space.

In the last edition in 2011, 79,000 professionals visited the four fairs, 54% of which were from outside Germany. Among the four events, the “oldie but goldie” GIFA stands out for its size and its long history - the first edition was held in 1956!

The list of countries participating is truly global. Apart from Germany, which is being represented by 736 companies in total, Italian, British and French manufacturers as well as Chinese, Indian and US American companies all play a particularly prominent role on the world market and at the four trade fairs. Exhibitors come from just about all manufacturing industries.

An extensive program made of conferences and lectures is going to add value for visitors, providing a link between the most recent studies and the practical use of the equipment on display.

The trade fairs are focussing on the issues of resource minimisation and energy efficiency this year - a very important issue for energy-intensive industries as foundries and steel/non-ferrous metal manufacturing companies. A special campaign called ecoMetals will gather companies presenting new developments and key technologies leading to maximisation of the degree of efficiency and lower CO2 emissions, thus making an active contribution to climate protection.

The “Bright World of Metals” will host also some companies that are present on the portal Expometals.net. They can be found below with the respective booth number, and with the most recent news stories linked to the trade shows:
