The German company Ernst Koch GmbH + Co. KG, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of wire drawing machines, has developed a new kind of automatic pull-in dog especially designed to clamp large-diameter wires (10–20 mm in diameter).
The soap box belonging to the pull-in dog pivots flexibly through two axes, making it much easier for machine operators to draw in the start of the wire. The pull-in dog is hydraulically driven, guaranteeing a secure grip and stable production. This new Koch feature benefits material quality, since the surface of the wire is protected by being automatically fed in.
