The International Wire Machinery Association looks back on the success of wire 2018

After a few busy weeks back in the UK, the IWMA (International Wire Machinery Association) finally had the chance to look back on the success of wire 2018 and what a fantastic week it was.  A total of 1,442 exhibitors from 53 Countries presented their technology highlights in 8 exhibition halls this year at wire Düsseldorf. On more than ​​65,000 square meters  - some 5000 square metres of space more than the previous event in 2016! IWMA welcomed many of the members onto the stand and it was great to see members using the business centre, meeting clients and colleagues on the stand for refreshments and making good use of the meeting room and seating areas. The new introduction of beer pumps seemed to go down very well as well!

Researchers at the show concluded that trade visitors at wire 2018 were primarily interested in machines for processing and producing wire and cable, steel bars and strips, process engineering tools as well as machines, equipment, tools and auxiliaries. The forming technology and auxiliary materials segments were also in high demand. 20% of the visitors polled stated they were interested in finished products. Joachim Schäfer, Managing Director at Messe Düsseldorf GmbH, delighted after five successful days at the trade fair, said “As trade fair organisers we have once again succeeded in offering the wire, cable and pipe industries a global platform in Düsseldorf as a Basis for Business”.

IWMA was pleased to welcome 9 new members, and 2 previous members that re-joined IWMA during the week.
