Mecavit sponsors the MXGP 2018 motocross world championship

MECAVIT, leader on the Italian industrial market for the production of carbon steel and stainless steel fasteners, has been sponsoring for some years the motocross rider Ivo Monticelli, who this year will take part in the MXGP 2018 world championship.

Officially established in 1957 by the FIM and initially reserved for 500 cm³ engine displacement motorcycles, the world motocross championship has a turning point in 2004, when the names of motorcycle categories in MX1, MX2 and MX3 changed with the introduction of four-stroke engines, in descending order of engine displacement. Today the top class category is the MXGP.

Ivo Monticelli, born in Ancona on the 16th of August 1994, began his career when he was only 7 years old. He conquered his first European title in 2008 and hold it again in 2009.

KTM’s rider during the 2017 championship, he achieved the 24th position.

In 2018 Ivo Monticelli joined the I-Fly JK team of Riccardo Boschi Yamaha Racing team - MXGP class and is achieving important placements in the most prestigious category.
