A new co-extrusion crosshead for thin and optimized cables

The most common coating variant for LV power cables, the "tandem extrusion", is increasingly being replaced by the so-called "co-extrusion". This is change is inevitable partly due to co-extrusion being not only a more efficient production process, but also a more cost-effective solution; and partly due to the fact that there are many different extrusion materials.

The brand new crosshead RX 40 MB 2.1.I by Rosendahl was specifically developed with these requirements in mind: the device enables the co-extrusion of different material combinations, such as EPDM with PVC. And all with one crosshead!

Cables, especially the ones employed in building cabling, are extremely thin and optimized, thus requiring a high degree of precision during the manufacturing process. When developing the crosshead RX 40 MB 2.1.l. Rosendahl has put a good deal of effort to ensure that it could process cables with very small diameter, up to ø3 mm.

The crosshead RX 40 MB 2.1.l features several other properties.
