How to save on material costs in automotive wire production?

How to save on material costs in automotive wire production?

Suppose you are producing an ultra-thin cable with 0.13 mm² at a production speed of 1800 m/min. Now you are tasked to monitor the insulation color just by looking at it. Do you think you could detect color variations in - let’s say - 200 m of cable on the running line?
Quite an impractical - if not impossible - proposition.

This is where Rosendahl comes into play: thanks to the DVS SK-400-C, an extremely sensitive color recognition system, you will be able to detect even the slightest deviations and save on material costs.

Let’s see how it works, shall we?
The color recognition sensor system measures the main color, the stripe color, as well as the stripe width, based on previously set references. Product recipes can also be significantly improved: due to its sensitivity, the master-batch demand can be decisively reduced. Intensive tests on Rosendahl's RA-A automotive wire production line reveal that recipes with 2.5% master-batch can be easily decreased down to 1.5%, while still retaining the same color shade. All these improvements lead to immediate savings regarding the master-batch, and thus on material costs.
