Trafilerie di Malavedo – Malavedo’s wire drawing industries - processes and sells different types of iron wire: hard, white annealed, drawn after annealing, copper plated, galvanized, phosphated, pickled for blue tacks, screws, small metal products and special processes. The company, based in Lecco (Italy), mainly uses low carbon iron wire (percentage less than 0.10%) FE37-CB4FF-CB1OFF for a diameter range from 0.50 to 13.00mm with centesimal tolerances. Malavedo’s wire drawing industries has gained the Italian best factory award: on December 10, 2003, the International Best Factory Award Commission – established at the School of Management (SDA), Production and Technology Area of the Bocconi University, in collaboration with the financial newspaper “SOLE 24 ORE”, awarded an international acknowledgment to Trafilerie di Malavedo for company production and management efficiency. Bocconi awards the prize yearly after an accurate selection of the candidates. In fact, the enquiry made by Bocconi and the English CRANFIELD SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT has been submitted to a great number of companies in Italy, Germany and the United Kingdom in order to measure the performance of the companies by means of objective and impartial parameters. Prof. MAURIZIO DALLOCCHIO, director of BOCCONI SDA, stated when he awarded the prize: “I pay my compliments to Gianola, as his company, founder of API (Association of Small and Medium-Sized Industries) has been recognized by influential experts as an example and model of success”. Malavedo’s wire drawing industries have available annealing furnaces with atmosphere control for white annealing. The packaging of the products is offered as follows: coils, coilers, reels, bobbins, “Rosette”-shaped reel and bars.
