Emulsions lubricants for wet drawing and copper
Emulsions - lubricants for wet drawing applications and copper wet drawing applications
VICAFIL SL: range for all wet drawing applications
This lubricant family, soluble in water, is particularly well suited to wire drawing of small diameter ferrous materials. The main objective is to remove the heat generated from the deformation of the material as quick as possible (water being the best vehicle), and to limit friction by employing a lubricant that forms an unctuous anti-wear or extreme pressure film in the deformation zone.
Chemically, VICAFIL SL products are dispersions, emulsions or water solutions. They can be classified according to their appearance in aqueous media:
-milky: emulsion or dispersion
-translucent: microemulsion
-transparent: solution
VICAFIL TCU: special range for copper wet drawing applications
Water-based lubricants are the most used for copper & copper alloys cold forming applications. They are defined as those where water is the continuous phase. Basically, water-based fluids combine the cooling properties of water with lubricating properties of oil and/or various chemicals. Various families in our TCU range are used and these can be classified according to their appearance in aqueous media as follow: soap-fat compounds, water-soluble oils, semi-synthetic and synthetic solutions.
