Few days left before CabWire Industry Forum

New workshops, impressive industry speakers, global suppliers and extended networking opportunities are the key factors making CabWire Industry Forum bigger and better than ever.

The long-established biennial conference has been revamped and relaunched for 2017, and will be held in the CCD East, Messe Düsseldorf, Germany on November 7.
The new forum is a joint venture between the International Wire & Cable Association (IWMA) and the International Wire and Cable Exhibitors Association (IWCEA), and runs alongside the International Tube Association (ITA) conference.
The core of CabWire - technical presentations, a ‘table-top’ exhibition and a plant tour (this year of the Leoni Kerpen cable manufacturing plant) - remain, but new features include educational training fundamentals - workshop sessions on key topics, repeated throughout the day alongside the main programme.
An impressive list of expert speakers
includes Mr Flavio Casiraghi, head of materials research & development at Prysmian Gropup, Italy who will discuss new thermoplastic PP compounds to replace XLPE and deliver improved insulation properties. Others include Dr Jeremy Hodge of the British Approvals Service for Cables (BASEC), Dr James Pilgrim and Dr Simon Sutton of the UK’s University of Southampton, William Plunkett of Integer Research and Ali Shehab of Cimteq.
“Refreshing the format keeps the event attractive and relevant to members and their customers” explained IWMA technical director Peter Large. “Running alongside the ITA conference is a logical development. Though the two events are separate, both will include table-top exhibitions that everyone can visit to meet clients across both industries.”

A month from the opening of this year’s parallel wire and tube industry conferences the new format for the widely-anticipated international event is proving very popular and only a few delegate and exhibition places are left.

The CabWire forum is an opportunity for companies and researchers to display their most advanced ideas and production developments, and this year will feature not only some of the most respected companies in their respective sectors, but also suppliers and customers. The biennial forum focuses on key issues currently affecting the cable industry, including new insulation systems, the latest generation of LAN cable solutions and CPR.
“We asked hundreds of members around the world how we could develop CabWire and have incorporated many of their ideas for this year. We’ve been overwhelmed by the number of non-members who have signed up to attend, including several global suppliers who haven’t been to CabWire before,” said Peter Large. “CabWire is a fantastic opportunity for IWMA members to meet fellow members and key customers too. The changes we have made have had very good results.”
Delegate places are strictly limited and running out quickly.
