New Ultimat UMW with automatic frame press for wire oven shelf production

New Ultimat UMW with automatic frame press for wire oven shelf production

UK-based Ultimate Automation continually adds to their range of wire forming and welding machines, based on customer feedback and demand, for innovative and labor saving equipment.

They recently supplied a version of their successful Ultimat UMW Wire Forming & Welding Machine to an Oven manufacturer in Eastern Europe. This machine was for the manufacture of wire shelves used in ovens and incorporated an additional Automatic Press Station for the post forming of vertical “stop bends” in the frames. The Ultimat UMW was used to form and weld the wire frames fully automatically direct from coil and the completed welded frame was then transferred using the high speed FUS transfer arm to the magazine of the UPS Press Station. The robust design of this unit allows up to two (per side) separate press stations to be mounted for post forming of the pre-welded frames produced by the UMW machine. Each press station may be freely mounted to operate (press) in either the horizontal or vertical plane. This allows for simple reconfiguration to enable the manufacture of alternative designs and press forms as well as products of different sizes and wire diameters. The machine incorporates a number of sensors to ensure it operates continuously with minimal operator intervention. Both the UMW and the UPS are designed for maximum flexibility of configuration and can also be installed in line with the new generation of UCW Cross Wire Welding Machines which are used for T welding support wires into frames.

Two standard models are available for wire diameters up to 6.5mm and 10mm respectively with production speeds around 600 completed frames per hour for a typical domestic oven shelf.
