FMKZ25 anti-explosion filters: a new order for SO.TEC

Companies that carry out manufacturing activities such as cleaning, sandblasting, polishing, and grinding of metals generate industrial dusts, which are harmful both for the health of the workers and for the efficiency of machinery. Sometimes, these can even cause explosions: this is the case of Atex dusts.

To combat this phenomenon and prevent risks, a long-standing customer of SO.TEC – a leader in the molding and processing of brass, copper, and aluminum components – contacted the Italian company to purchase seven dedusting systems. After only three months from the order, SO.TEC completed the turnkey delivery.
Specifically, seven ATEX-certified FMKZ25 cassette dust collectors were installed, with a total capacity of 65,000 m3/h, perfect for the abatement of St-3 industrial dust. The FMKZ25 filters, designed according to the German VDI 3673 standards, are the ideal solution to control explosions, minimize damage, and maximize the protection of people and machinery.

In addition, the compact design of these filters brings multiple advantages, including:
- reduced overall dimensions while maintaining maximum filtration efficiency;
- possibility to install the plant near the productive area, where the dusts are generated;
- reducing the overall cost of installation through less energy consumption and shorter piping.
