A sneak peek at Trafilerie Assi’s new steel quality before release

Trafilerie Assi has been manufacturing cold-drawn round, hexagon and square steel bars and coils for more than 40 years.

The steel qualities already present in the catalog include steels not intended for heat treatment, such as 11SMnPb30 and 11SMnPb37, as well as steels for direct hardening, for instance 36SMnPb14.

Right in these days, Trafilerie Assi has begun the tests that will lead the company to eventually enlarge its product portfolio with steel 11SMn30. It is an automatic steel, completely lead-free, that thanks to its great chippability is suitable for high speed machining on machine tools.
