Tubular stranders for round and sectored stranded conductors production

The Strander’s rotor is computer designed for long life and trouble free operation. The high speed rotor sections are fabricated from steel plate that is precision rolled, welded, finished, annealed, machined with extreme accuracy and finally dynamically balanced at the rated speed. The axial force on the rotor is restrained by a large self-aligning spherical roller bearing.

The rotor braking is through a caliper disc brake which is positioned between the bearing housings. Fail-safe braking is achieved through a pressure sensitive switch mounted on an air accumulator which is interlocked with the main electrical controls.

Machine parameters are digitally monitored and controlled via a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and a menu driven touch screen so that at each stage the operator is guided to obtain the desired machine operation.
