A closer look at ABS departments: the Health & Safety Management System

Established by the Consolidated Safety Act (Legislative Decree 81/2008 - Italy), the Health & Safety Management System identifies and assesses risk factors for the entire plant, suggesting appropriate measures to ensure the health and safety of workers.

This function is carried out through prevention (application of strategies and procedures, information, education, and training of personnel), as well as through protection activities (the use of collective safeguards and personal protection equipment).

Besides, ABS has also approved voluntary compliance to the regulation BS OHSAS 18001. Certified by an external body since January 2013, its aim is to promote continuous improvement in health and safety.
