Can-Eng Furnaces commissions continuous mesh belt atmosphere hardening furnace system

CAN-ENG Furnaces International Limited has commissioned a 1500 lb/hr continuous mesh belt atmosphere hardening furnace system for a large North American fastener manufacturer.

The system is designed to provide atmosphere hardening and tempering of high volume fasteners and includes a computerized loading system, mesh belt controlled atmosphere hardening furnace, oil quench system, pre and post wash systems, and enhanced part tracking. CAN-ENG included its ERS™ technology to reduce the overall energy requirements, while maintaining the systems output capacity and product quality.

CAN_ENG's state-of-the-art combustion system integrates new self-recuperative burner technology which provides significant benefits in heating efficiency over conventional recuperative burner technology. To complement the self-recuperative burner technology, this system is fitted with a modern radiant tube heating system which provides improved system efficiencies and reduced emissions. Along with this enhancement, CAN-ENG’s atmosphere reduction technologies were included as a secondary means of reducing energy consumption. The system has been integrated with CAN-ENG’s computerized part tracking, recipe control and data archiving system, for process control.

CAN-ENG’s continuous mesh belt atmosphere heat treatment systems are recognized worldwide and meet or exceed stringent quality code requirements. Thiscontinuous mesh belt atmosphere furnace system is fully compliant to meet the requirements of AIAG CQI-9 Heat Treatment System guidelines. Commissioning was completed in Q3, 2014.
