In Russia, the state of the art of bunching and braiding machines

Niehoff’s experience in the Russian wire and cable market started more than 30 years ago when the German machinery manufacturer based in Schwabach began to develop first connections with Russian cable manufacturers. At the wire Russia 2019 exhibition in Moscow (June 18-20) Maschinenfabrik Niehoff and Niehoff of Russia, its Moscow-based marketing and service office, will be exhibiting on booth FO D 58:

>a D 802 type double twist machine and
>a BMV 16 type lever arm rotary braiding machine.
Besides that the offerings of the After Sales Service and the Niehoff Original+ components will be showcased, and the visitors can learn how they can use Niehoff’s digitization concept.
The exhibits The D 802 type double twist machine is designed for bunching plated and bare wires or twisting insulated wires. The machine can be used to produce (copper) strands with 0.25 to 16.0 mm² cross section and an infinitely variable lay length of 15 to 160 mm. Insulated wire can be stranded up to an OD of 7.5 mm. The maximum line speed is up to 5,000 tpm or 300 m/min.
Like all machines of the D series, also the D 802 features the service proven energy-saving single bow (ECO-Bow) design and is equipped with an energy-class IE3 energy saving rotor drive and an adjustable fan drive in the sound proof cabin. Other features are the wireless telemetry for all signals including encoders – the absence of brushes increase the production reliability and simplify maintenance – and an automatic traverse which is equipped with a flange detection system allowing spools to be perfectly spooled. As a consequence, even at high speeds, spooled cables can be payed-off tangle-free and with no damage. Sensors monitor the bearings temperature, cradle vibration and the quality of the production process. The machine’s sensor technology makes it also possible to use machine, production and process data according to Industry 4.0.

The 16-carrier lever arm rotary braiding machine BMV 16 is designed for processing of bare or plated round or flat wire made from copper, aluminium or stainless steel with single-wire diameters ranging from 0.02 to 0.56 mm (in the case of Cu soft) as well as artificial yarn and fibers. Like all other models in the BMV series, this machine features an infinitely adjustable electronic control of line speed and braiding pitch as well as an automatic central lubrication system.
By means of other monitoring systems, some optionally available, BMV braiders can operate unattended for extended periods and without frequent operator intervention. Also for the braiding machines new functionalities have been developed according to the requirements of Industry 4.0.
