The manufacturing process for the production of electrowelded mesh goes through many processing steps: from wire rod drawing to the production of straightened cut-to-size bars, to the welding of the programmed mesh. Each manufacturing process requires the involvement of different machines; the logistics of the production plant becomes central: moving the semi-finished wire from one machine to another can compromise the efficiency and productivity of the plant itself.
The integration of some phases in a single production line can be the answer to any loss of efficiency.
Schnell proposes the COMBIDRIVE drawing line: by integrating the drawing phase and the production of straightened cut- to-size bars in a single machine it allows to:
- increase in productivity (handling times needed to move the semi-finished products between the machines are eliminated);
- better use of your production facility space, thanks to its compact lay-out;
- reduction of the necessary manpower; the number of required straighteners is reduced;
- simplification of logistics
COMBIDRIVE models were designed by combining a powerful drawing line with a straightening unit equipped with a rotating cut. In this way, straight ribbed bars can be produced at very high speed directly from the wire rod, simplifying the production process, reducing costs and saving working space. The straightening unit comes from Schnell's great experience in the cutting and bending sector, and guarantees high straightening quality and measurement accuracy, which are essential in the production of electro-welded mesh. For the most demanding ones, the straightening unit can be equipped with Sapiens Technology which allows - through the use of joysticks - to obtain a high straightening quality even with inexperienced operators.
COMBIDRIVE is completely customizable and modular thanks to the wide range of available accessories . In particular, the plant can be equipped with different collecting benches that allow you to store both small diameters and large lengths bars. The double storage colleting bench also allows not to interrupt the production process even during the unloading phase of the produced bars: when the first collecting storage rack is full, the bars are automatically sent to the second storage allowing operators to unload the bars produced in safety while the machine continues to produce, thus ensuring an increase in plant productivity. The straightening and cutting unit can be installed on old rolling lines so as to transform slow drawing lines into fast straightening machines.
