New WTM screening machines for high-frequency coaxial cables

Recently, WTM has announced the evolution of the taping line dedicated to the production of high-frequency coaxial cables.

Let's analyze in detail the technical characteristics of this enhanced piece of equipment.

With a single taping module, the machine features a specific cable tension control system that keeps the line speed stable and perfectly synchronized with the rotation speed of the taping head. This maintains the centesimal tolerances of the taping pitch and angle.
It is also equipped with sophisticated controls for dimensional verification of the product throughout the production process – such as cable tension, diameters, and eccentricity – and for monitoring the main production parameters, such as line speed stability, the precision of the various rotating devices, and line speed.
These parameters are saved on files and processed in order to analyze the statistical quantities (Cpk, standard deviation) and the frequency trend (through FFT analysis). WTM provides all the electronics and software for the acquisition and analysis of all the signals coming from measurement lasers, load cells, drives, encoders, PLCs, etc.
