Stolberger Maschinenfabrik GmbH
Rope-making machines

DEGermany
1952
Since 60 years the name Stolberger stands for "tailor made" in the cable machinery business. Behind this name there is a wide range of production machinery for all branches of cable and steel rope technology. The six decades know-how and the experience of our staff are a strong foundation and decisive basis for the reliability of the whole Stolberger production programme.

In may 1952, Heinz Kerpen, president and owner of the Kerpen Cable Factory, decided to make use of his experience in the design and production of machines for the cable industry and founded the Stolberger Maschinen- und Apparatebau GmbH.

The original staff was 12 at the time of foundation and increased rapidly to a payroll of 350, in modern production and administration buildings, with the design, production and sale of machines for the cable and rope industries. The continuous exchange of experience with the Kerpen Cable Factory was to the advantage of both companies and, above all, that of the clients. In 1970 the acquisition of the machine factory Niehaus, Düsseldorf, expanded the range of products for the cable and wire rope industries.

The present range of products of Stolberger Maschinenfabrik includes all types of capstans, drum twisters, cage stranders, high speed tubular stranders, bow type stranders, pay-offs and take-ups and a variety of auxiliary equipment. Owing to this practical experience with these machines all requirements of the cable and steel rope industry can be solved.

The complicated production facilities of the cable and rope industries must be adapted continuously to the latest development and often have to be geared to the solution of very special individual problems. The engineers and technicians of Stolberger KMB-Maschinenfabrik do their best to come up with optimum solutions for all problems.

In the beginning of the year 2002 the company was taken over by the German WILMS-Group and a new company was founded under the name Stolberger KMB-Maschinenfabrik GmbH. The company is located in Monschau/Germany, at the premises of their sister company Queins Machines GmbH.
