Big changes at Messe Düsseldorf: a new team to face future global challenges

On December 4, 2019, Messe Düsseldorf's shareholders have come together to appoint Wolfram N. Diener as the new President & Chief Executive Officer and Erhard Wienkamp as the new Managing Director Operative Trade Fair Business.

Wolfram Diener will succeed Werner M. Dornscheidt, who will retire at the end of June 2020, after almost 17 years. Erhard Wienkamp will instead replace Hans Werner Reinhard, who left the company on September 30, 2019.

The outgoing President Dornschiedt is satisfied by the new team, praising both Diener and Wienkamp's broad management experience. As Dornschiedt has pointed out, the world has grown more complex and digitalized. The markets are shifting and keep evolving at blistering speed. Diener and Wienkamp are the right persons to tackle both current and future global challenges, as they “stand for both renewal and continuity”.

The Board of Management was also made leaner and more streamlined to give the company the agility needed to face the future.
