Milan to host 6th Steels in Cars and Trucks conference on June 19-23

After a two-year-long hiatus due to the Covid-19 emergency, the sixth international conference on steels for the automotive industry, SCT Steels in Cars and Trucks, originally scheduled for June 2020, is finally back.

The SCT 2022 conference, to be held June 19-23 in Milan, is expected to attract more than 400 participants from all over the world. This unique congress will provide excellent networking opportunities with leading steelmakers, and automotive manufacturers and suppliers, "bringing the automotive, supplier and steel industries together".

The "future trends in steel development, processing technologies, and applications" will also be central themes of the conference, as steel plays a crucial role in facing current and future global challenges such as e-mobility, preservation of material resources, and recycling.

Jérôme Favero, ArcelorMittal’s head of automotive steel solutions, will kick off the Opening Session with his keynote presentation “Reinventing steel in a world of disruption”, followed by Michele Tedesco and Fabrizio Frascà, both from Stellantis, with a presentation themed “Steel in automotive present and future”. Dr.-Ing. Stefanie Brockmann, executive member of the managing board, Steel Institute VDEh, will then hold a lecture on the “CO2 mitigation in steel production and by steel application”.

On Tuesday evening, June 21, delegates and representatives will share an exclusive gala dinner on the patio of the Chiostri di Sant'Eustorgio hosted by SCT 2022 platinum sponsor ArcelorMittal.
