The first wire & Tube show after the COVID-19 outbreak

wire and Tube China, leading spin-offs of the wire and Tube show in Düsseldorf, are back for another run. After the COVID-19 outbreak at the beginning of the year, this is the first wire and Tube branded fair to take place as scheduled, from September 23 to 26, 2020, at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC).

If you are planning to attend the show, whether as a visitor or as an exhibitor, here is everything you need to know.

Precautions taken for COVID-19
Let’s address the bost burning issue first: over the past few months, the COVID-19 pandemic has raised many question marks regarding safety, hygiene, and health risks. To date, the situation in China appears to be under control, with only 148 new cases and 5 deaths reported in the latest 7 days, according to official data by WHO. The organizers have repeatedly stated that people’s safety is a top priority and are working closely with health authorities to monitor current developments and create a safe environment for visitors and exhibitors alike.

As you may already know, since March 28, the country’s borders have been closed to almost all foreigners. However, following the decline of coronavirus cases and fatalities in the country, as of August 28, the Chinese Government has partially relaxed travel bans and restrictions. For more detailed information we suggest you contact the Chinese Embassy in your own country.

We would also like to remind you that all foreigners will need to obtain an entry visa before proceeding to China. All visa applicants are also required to hold an invitation issued by authorized institutions within China. More information on how to request an invitation can be found here >>

Numerous exhibiting companies will rely on local agents and representatives, due to the current travel restrictions. We can therefore expect the wire and Tube China 2020 to have more of a local relevance compared to previous years.

Prospects
To quote the organizers, "the dark clouds will always disperse, and the development of the industry will never stop." The huge scale of Chinese economy allows the country to withstand risks and adverse conditions.

Let’s not forget that 2020 is also the sprint year of China's Thirteenth Five-Year Plan, the first initiated under President Xi Jinping’s administration. The Chinese Government is positive that the increasing intensity of policy adjustment will release tremendous potential and momentum for China’s development.

What’s old and what’s new at wire and Tube China 2020?

With these thorny issues out of the way, it’s time to take a look at themes, innovations, and other exciting developments in store for this year’s event.

wire China is going to gather under one roof over 560 both Chinese and international exhibitors. In Halls W1, W2, W3 and W4, companies will be showcasing state-of-the-art machines, equipment, products, and services for the wire and cable industry.

Occupying Halls E1 and E2, Tube China is one of Asia's most influential tube and pipe industry events. This year’s show will see the launch of two new pavilions, the THERMPROCESS China Pavilion and the Saw EXPO China Pavilion, both grouped in Hall E1, and dedicated to companies specialized in heat treatment and sawing related processes.

After the success scored in previous events, fastener and fixing technologies will also return in a dedicated side area, hosted in Hall W5.
