Resistance welding machines

Resistance welding machines

Resistance welding is a process that involves the passage of current through a (more or less conductive) body to develop heat with both the electrical resistance of the material and the value of the current (Q = RI²).

Boasting more than 50 years of experience in the production of resistance welding machines, CEMSA manufactures 4 different types of welding machines: projection, spot, seam, and butt/flash welders.

- projection welders
Available in different powers, with AC or Medium Frequency system. They use the “follow-up” technology with pre-loaded springs, which ensures the maximum precision of the cylinder response during the process. Real-time pressure and current control are also available for the automotive sector. During each cycle, production data is collected to enable complete and rigorous monitoring.

- spot welders
CEMSA's spot welding machines are manufactured in sturdy welded tubular structures, with extensive customization options. Available configurations and power packages are as follows: from 15kVA to 180 kVA in alternating current or in direct current up to 300 kVA with the Medium Frequency package. The standard solutions that can be used are column, multi-head bridge, NC with double loading-unloading and working table, rotary tables, and punching isles with anthropomorphic robots. The machinery can be equipped with positioning devices, special electrodes, and feeding systems.

- seam welders
In longitudinal (MRL) or transverse (MRT) versions, CEMSA seam welding machines can be equipped with single-phase Medium Frequency transformers or AC inverters. Through the consultancy service, it is possible to opt for "stand-alone" solutions for static or driven positioning equipment, rollers with protective copper wire (suitable for galvanized or aluminum-coated sheets), or special rollers addressed to the aerospace industry. For materials sensitive to overheating such as stainless steel, the company offers the ROBOSEAM model, ideal for water bath processing.

- butt/spark welders
Versatile and easy to use, CEMSA butt (or spark) welders can weld both square and round profiles up to 200 mm². For large sections (up to 6000 mm²), the optimal model is the STI, a high-performance machine available in both single- and three-phase, with a simplified panel or touch-screen programming options. If equipped with the EVO system, the machine is also able to monitor, capture, and save different welding data.
