Maschinenfabrik Niehoff emerged from the Drahtziehstein-Industrie J.M. Bauer company founded in the year 1859 which among other products manufactured drawing machines for wires made from non-ferrous metals. In 1951, the entrepreneur Walter Niehoff acquired this department, gave it the name Maschinenfabrik Niehoff and concentrated it on the construction of new machines for the manufacture of non-ferrous metals wires.

In close cooperation with renowned companies from the wire and cable branch Niehoff has developed many technologies to market maturity – like the connection of production processes, the automation of production steps, the multiwire drawing, the electronically controlled minimized-slip drawing of wire rod, the handling of cables, wires and braids with the NPS handling system and the Niehoff data and special cable stranding technology – which again and again provided trend-setting impulses to the wire and cable branch and have become standards in the wire and cable production. The production is carried out according to the DIN ISO 9001 and 14001 quality standards.

Today, the Niehoff group headquartered in Schwabach near Nuremberg, Germany, with nearly 700 employees is comprised of manufacturing subsidiaries in Brazil, the US, the Czech Republic, India and China, as well as service centers in Japan, Singapore, Russia and Dubai and present on all important markets worldwide. The most recent examples of Niehoff’s future oriented activities are the construction of a completely new factory at the company’s headquarters, the expansion of the new Niehoff of India factory and the opening of a factory for Niehoff Machinery Changzhou Co. Ltd. in China.
