Bertuletti named ANCCEM President, Italian spring makers discuss AI and ethics

On May 23, 2025, the ANCCEM National Conference — a key event for the Italian spring sector and organized by the Italian association of spring manufacturers — was held in Maranello (Italy).
During the assembly, Fabrizio Bertuletti was elected the new ANCCEM President, succeeding Francesco Silvestri after seven years of intense and fruitful activity. Bertuletti expressed his intention to ensure continuity, encouraging new memberships but also urging existing members to take a more active role in the association’s life. The election of two young women to the Board was also seen as a highly positive sign.
Artificial intelligence and new ethical challenges
The main theme of the conference was artificial intelligence, explored not only as a technological opportunity but also as a strategic tool for spring industry SMEs.
Engineer Roberto Magnani, an expert in the field, stressed the importance of clear rules and governance protocols to ensure responsible AI use, highlighting risks related to data security and privacy. Ethics and transparency were reaffirmed as core principles to guide digital transformation — values already promoted by outgoing President Silvestri and now symbolically entrusted to the new President.
Technical evolution and standards update
One of the day’s highlights was the technical presentation by Angelo Cortesi, who provided an in-depth look at the update of Goodman diagrams, based on research conducted by the Association of the German Spring Industry (VDFI) together with Ilmenau University.
The study aims to revise the UNI EN 13906-1 standard, helping raise technical standards for springs across Europe.
Global geopolitical context analysis
Among the keynote speakers was Dr. Federico Fubini, Deputy Director of Corriere della Sera, Italy’s leading daily newspaper, who offered a reflection on tensions between the United States, China, and Europe. He stressed Europe’s technological fragility and the urgent need for joint strategies to strengthen competitiveness and economic cohesion.
An event for discussion and networking
The conference concluded with a visit to the Ferrari Museum, offering participants a chance to share ideas and reflections in a setting symbolic of Italian industrial excellence.
The event confirmed ANCCEM’s commitment to facing future challenges with an open and innovative mindset, promoting values such as ethics, continuous training, and internationalization.
