Quality control goes 4K

Inspecting, measuring, and documenting without disrupting the workflow: these are the core capabilities of EVO Cam AURA, Vision Engineering’s new family of digital microscopes combining 4K imaging with integrated tools for more accurate, repeatable, and efficient inspection and quality control workflows.
What does the AURA range deliver?
EVO Cam AURA addresses four key requirements in industrial inspection:
1. See even the smallest details clearly
High-resolution imaging reveals fine cracks and scratches, contamination, air bubbles, and inclusions, even on challenging samples such as highly polished metals, low-contrast materials, and anodized parts.
2. Maintain consistent quality throughout the process
Automated features help keep critical settings under control, supporting accurate and repeatable results throughout every stage of the quality procedure.
3. Simplify and speed up inspection
Multiple tasks can be completed on the same system, reducing setup and transition times between different stages of the inspection workflow.
4. Fit the system to the inspection environment
EVO Cam AURA can be configured around the application, bench layout, and specific requirements of each inspection workstation.
From live image to documented results
AURA integrates tools for managing the entire inspection process. Intelligent auto-recognition automatically updates settings so that magnification and measurements are displayed correctly, while intelligent lighting recalls the settings associated with the selected setup. Presets save known combinations of settings for recurring inspection tasks, while Supervisor Mode locks critical parameters to maintain inspection quality and accuracy. In addition to 4K imaging, the system includes autofocus and focus stacking, which captures sharper images across uneven samples or components with varying depths.
Inspection, measurement, and analysis in an all-in-one interface
AURA software brings zoom, focus, lighting, image control, capture, measurement, and analysis together in a single interface. Captured images can include annotations, measurements, metadata, and timestamps, and can be saved to internal storage, USB, or a network drive.
From image comparison to go/no-go inspection
AURA enables image comparison against golden samples using Pulse, Curtain, and synchronized comparison modes. Customizable overlays can be used to create dedicated go/no-go gauges for each inspection, while calibrated measurement tools support dimensional checks directly within the field of view.
These features are also suited to automotive and precision engineering, where customizable presets and 4K imaging support surface condition checks, coating inspection, and detailed defect analysis, including on high-mix production lines.
Three EVO Cam AURA configurations
The EVO Cam AURA range is available in 4K Touch, 4K, and HD configurations, designed to suit different working environments and inspection requirements.
1. EVO Cam AURA 4K Touch
Combines 4K imaging with touchscreen control for detailed inspection and customizable workflows.
2. EVO Cam AURA 4K
Combines 4K imaging with front button keypad control for detailed inspection where physical controls are preferred. It offers an output resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels and 20x optical zoom.
3. EVO Cam AURA HD
Provides Full HD 1080p imaging with front button keypad control. Designed for responsive live inspection, assembly, and rework tasks, it features 30x optical zoom.
All three models are also available as Secure variants, designed for restricted environments where wireless connectivity, Bluetooth, or internal storage is not permitted.
A system configured around the application
EVO Cam AURA can be configured with a range of objectives and illumination options, including white and UV light, episcopic and sub-stage illumination, and polarizing options. A choice of stands and accessories also allows the workstation to be adapted to the sample and inspection task.
The system supports Wi-Fi or LAN connectivity and streaming capabilities, providing supervisor oversight without interrupting productivity and enabling collaboration with local or remote teams.
EVO Cam AURA brings imaging, process control, measurement, and documentation together in a single all-in-one inspection system, with no separate PC required. The goal is to streamline the inspection workflow and ensure consistent, traceable, documentable results throughout the quality control process.
