ZUMBACH Electronic to showcase advanced inline measurement at wire 2026

ZUMBACH Electronic to showcase advanced inline measurement at wire 2026

ZUMBACH Electronic is delighted to once again take center stage at wire 2026, the premier international wire & cable trade fair, held in Düsseldorf from April 13 to 17, 2026. This world-class exhibition provides the perfect platform for the company to present its latest innovations in advanced, non-contact measurement and control solutions for the industry.

As a world-leading manufacturer of inline measuring systems for optimizing product quality and reducing production costs, ZUMBACH partners with many of the most respected names across the wire & cable, rubber & plastics, and steel industries. Its solutions empower manufacturers to achieve efficiency, accuracy, and consistency, while minimizing waste, start-up times, machine downtime, and improving profitability.

For more than 65 years, ZUMBACH has been delivering exactly what it promises: reliable and robust innovations that drive measurable results.

ODAC® laser diameter and ovality gauges – new ODAC® 16 TRIO, 16XY & 18XY models now available

At wire 2026, the company will exhibit the new and improved 16 TRIO, 16XY and 18XY models, packed with new features including integrated OPC-UA interface, extended defect detection capabilities, FFT, integrated length and speed measurement, and more.

Renowned for precision, over 100,000 ODAC® laser measuring heads have been utilized globally over the past 60 years. They provide non-contact measuring accuracy of diameter, ovality, and position for wire and cable manufacturing. Their excellent price-performance ratio optimizes production costs while improving overall product quality, even in harsh production environments.

The ODAC® laser measuring heads can also be used in conjunction with DVW and DVO oscillating units – a proven measuring solution for external minimum and maximum product dimensions. This configuration is typically used to measure height and width and is especially useful in the manufacturing of non-round products such as sector cables, flat conductors, and busbars.

SIMAC® surface inspection system – now with added defect classification capability

The new SIMAC® surface inspection system provides a state-of-the-art solution utilizing artificial intelligence algorithms to detect and identify material defects and anomalies, including colour deviations, cracks, scratches, bruises, and surface deviations in general, which may negatively impact profitability and product reliability.

In addition to suitability for black surfaces, the new SIMAC® range offers user-friendly set-up and several advantages, including defect classification, segmentation, and reclassification capabilities. Completing the range, the new SIMAC® 120 enables surface inspection on products up to 108 mm (4.25”) in diameter.

QC Off-Line Measuring Devices – the new benchmark for quality control

The QC non-contact off-line measuring stations are designed to deliver fast, accurate, and repeatable measurements for wire, cable, and tube samples.

These systems combine advanced components to provide unparalleled accuracy and ease of use, making them ideal for quality control laboratories or factory floors. They offer operators a user-friendly and repeatable solution for measuring outside diameter and ovality, ensuring compliance with exacting specifications and supporting production optimization.

UMAC® CI ultrasonic wall thickness processor – the success story continues

With 40 years of ultrasonic measuring experience and expertise, ZUMBACH has developed the UMAC® CI, a compact, high-tech wall thickness data acquisition system comprising a processor and associated sensors.

Designed specifically for use in extrusion lines, it measures and logs wall thickness, eccentricity and other relevant parameters at a scanning rate of 1000 measurements per second for each transducer. It utilizes the newest measuring algorithms, offers easy integration and quick setup, and provides visualisation of measurements via an embedded web server.

The UMAC®, used in conjunction with the ODAC® and USYS®, provides a cutting-edge solution for on-line measurement of the inner conductors and wall thickness of Twinax (duplex) cables used in AI supercomputer data centers, enabling cable manufacturers to produce cables that meet the highest standards required for AI computing applications.

RAYEX® S x-ray wall thickness measuring system – with the new CORE version now available

The RAYEX® S is an all-in-one solution for measuring wall thickness, ovality, eccentricity, and diameter. It measures product sizes between 1.5 mm and 100 mm, with wall thickness testing from 0.3 mm. It is a calibratable and certifiable solution that provides automatic control of line speed or extruder output capacity and enables easy product recipe creation.
