Photovoltaic cabin with integrated panel and inverter: EIB’s project takes shape

EIB Srl is an Italy-based company specializing in the design and manufacture of solutions for electrical distribution and energy efficiency, with a particular focus on photovoltaic systems, MV/LV cabins, and electrical panels. The company operates with a vertical approach: from metalworking and painting to insulation and electrical testing.
In May 2025, EIB began producing a technical cabin designed to contain four inverters and a parallel panel, serving a 350 kWp photovoltaic array, which the company is currently installing. It's a turnkey project developed entirely in-house.
Structure design and construction
EIB engineered the metal framework using S355 steel with welds certified to ISO 3834 standards. The structure measures 5600 × 2500 × 800 mm and ensures high mechanical strength and durability.
To protect the steel from harsh environmental exposure, EIB applies a C5-I industrial-grade coating system, suitable for extreme corrosive environments. The insulation consists of high-density polyurethane sandwich panels (≥40 kg/m³), with thickness tailored to the climatic conditions at the installation site.
Internal assembly: inverters and synchronization panel
Once the side panels are set up and forced ventilation openings are in place, four 90–100 kW PWM-based inverters are then installed, each with an integrated EMI filter. The assembly delivers superior conversion efficiency and ensures electromagnetic compatibility.
The custom-designed synchronization panel is assembled with:
• protection and sectioning devices,
• CEI 0-21 compliant interface relays,
• tin-plated copper busbars rated ≥160 A/cm²,
• provisions for remote monitoring and diagnostics systems.
Finishing and functional testing
EIB completes the structure by positioning a roof with a double waterproofing layer and stainless steel-hinged doors. All internal connections are thoroughly tested, including device calibration and proper communication between the inverters and the synchronization panel.
Turnkey and ready for delivery
After just one week of work, the cabin is ready for handover. Thanks to its in-house fleet, EIB also handles logistics, as transport and final placement are managed safely and directly, with no need for subcontracting.
This project showcases EIB’s ability to deliver high-efficiency, long-lasting technical structures (with an estimated lifespan of ≥25 years), fully integrated with advanced power conversion and control systems. Each phase is carried out with strict attention to quality and in compliance with up-to-date regulatory standards.
