Compact. Powerful. Coremo.

Compact. Powerful. Coremo.

In the segment of small-sized industrial pneumatic caliper brakes, Coremo introduces the new MPB model — a solution that combines high performance and quality in a compact, competitively priced package. With pneumatic actuation and spring release, the MPB brake is ideal for applications requiring low torque, precision, reliability, and minimal size, without cutting corners on quality and performance.

Available in two versions — MPB1 and MPB05 — the brake can be equipped with an ON/OFF inductive sensor for monitoring its status (open/closed), both locally and remotely.

Compact, robust, and lightweight design

The brake levers are made entirely of Ergal, a high-strength aluminum alloy comparable to lightweight steels and widely used in the aerospace industry. CNC-machined from solid material and heat-treated, these levers ensure exceptional strength and durability. The structure is completed by an aluminum mounting bracket and piston, resulting in a lightweight yet rugged brake designed for heavy-duty industrial use. Its compact dimensions make installation easy even in machinery with limited space.

Technical features and operational versatility

The MPB brake is designed for discs 12.7 mm thick and with a minimum diameter of 150 mm. Braking torque is proportional to the supply pressure — up to 6 bar — and easily adjustable. The brake can be used with both cast iron and steel discs, which are also available within Coremo’s product range.

Two pneumatic actuator versions (05 and 1), both with spring release, are available. The lever-opening system ensures the complete absence of residual torque when the brake is not pressurized. The mounting bracket includes three 9 mm holes for M8 screws, ensuring a secure and stable installation.

Ideal applications

Thanks to its precision, compactness, and construction quality, the MPB brake is particularly suitable for applications requiring low torque and limited heat dissipation, but high sensitivity, safety, and consistency. Typical applications include:

• Cable processing machinery
• Textile equipment
• Plastic film, paper, non-woven material production
• Test benches

Additional advantages

The modular design of the MPB brake ensures easy maintenance: pads and diaphragm can be quickly replaced. Its simple construction allows fast access to key components, reducing failure risks and minimizing downtime. The aluminum structure provides natural corrosion resistance, making the device suitable even for humid environments.

Users can choose between two piston types to tailor performance and retrofit the brake onto existing systems. The optional ON/OFF inductive sensor enables real-time operational monitoring, while the three-hole bracket ensures stable and safe mounting.

Compact, cost-effective, and built with premium technical features, the new MPB pneumatic caliper brake represents Coremo’s commitment to innovation and reliability. As with all Coremo products, customized configurations are available to meet specific application requirements.
