GMP Slovakia is worldwide leader in the production of metal reels, drums and special equipments. The range of products includes many different items including drums for twisting, stranding, plaiting.
For planetary stranding the suitable reels are two types: SW-Single Wall and DW-Double Wall. The choice of the reel depends on customer’s request and on material winded (copper, steel, aluminum wire). DW-Double Wall is manufactured with two flanges, one flat and one pressed, design which increase the resistance of the reel after many windings. Barrel is machined and reel is dynamically balanced. For single twist of big dimensions the suitable reels are two types: SD-Structural Drum and CD-Corrugated Drum. The choice of the reel depends on the customer’s request, both reels are suitable for the same application, but some customers prefer SD-Structural Drum version due to the internal surface of the flange which is flat and do not compromise quality of the winded material. Both types are designed to support big loading capacity, with reinforcements in the barrel and on the flange suitable for heavy duty process (drum twister) also. GMP Slovakia technical staff also studied different solutions which can permit to load these drums in box containers without space’s problems. Different optional are available: painting, customizing with tare, numbering, customer’s logo, dynamically balancing up to Ø 1600 mm flange, statically balancing for bigger drums, hardened changeable bushings. All dimensions are available according to customer’s request. The plant is organized to manufacture reels of every size. GMP Slovakia also manufacture different equipments to handle the reels, in vertical or horizontal position.
