Promills specialises in the cold shaping of metallic wire sections and has developed a design system that allows the production of a wide range of rolling cassettes using just a few standardised components. Promills’ modular system will fit the correct standard or custom made rolling cassette into old or new drawing lines. Standard steel and tungsten carbide rolls are also available.
More than 360 different standard models are available. Each rolling cassette is made of one or two roll groups. Each group can have two, three or four rolls within an outer diameter range of between 80mm and 210mm. Promills’ modular system also allows different types of roll groups in the same rolling cassettes. All the Promills rolling cassettes are supplied complete with control of the rolls during the pre-setting and running phases. The mechanics are
specially designed for ease of use, even for an inexperienced operator. All groups of rolls are provided with cooling and greasing circuits of the bearings that support the rolls.
Promills rolling cassettes have many applications and can work with low or
high carbon steel wire, ropes and cables.
They can also be used with low carbon ribbed wire for concrete (electro-welded mesh), high carbon ribbed wire for concrete (pre-stressed wire), regular shaped wire such as triangle, rectangle, square or hexagonal, asymmetrical profiles such
as half-oval or trapezoidal, or with special profiles for skid chain wire,
for example.
