Tramev, a passion for metal
The story of Tramev, with headquarters in Cesana Brianza, Lecco, Lombardy, is a symbol of how reacting to the market turbulence can lead to new business opportunities. And of how the same anti-crisis policies can reveal themselves able to generate successful businesses.
35 years after its birth Tramev (head of the Sommer holding) is an enterprise specializing in producing steel wire working machines and equipment, first of all electrohydraulic shears that allow even to cut or straighten an up to 50 mm diameter wire.
In addition to this, Tramev sells what we can call a “safe used”.
“We have a covered structure of 5000 sqm. that hosts machines for drawing and fasteners, that we resell after revision to our customers. It's the so called “revamping”, another instrument to react to the recession”.
A safe used can in fact attract the attention and the curiosity of those who want to save money on buying a new machine.
In the latest years Tramev put in its portfolio spare parts for annealing furnaces with thermal and mechanical parts. We're talking about vents and related supports, heat exchangers and radiant tubes.
Moreover, Tramev deals with spare parts for cold headers, rolls, shafts, pivots along with real machines like pay-offs for wire rod, butt welders, or grippers for coils and bobbins.
“Among our customers, beyond steel plants, drawing mills and bolt factories, we can count lots of chain industries and spring factories that we serve through a commercial net made of agents placed all over the world”. A real Risiko that consists of more than 30 territorial delegations.
Tramev owes its success also to its constant presence in the most important sector events.
“We participate in at least two international fairs each year, which helps us also in the commercial partners selection”.
