Induction heating, A. Franci (CEIA): "The strength of a fully integrated supply chain"

Induction heating, A. Franci (CEIA): "The strength of a fully integrated supply chain"

Backed by more than forty years of experience in induction heating, CEIA stands out for something few manufacturers can claim: direct control over the entire technology supply chain.

"We are the only manufacturer in the world to develop and produce in-house not only power generators, but also optical pyrometers for temperature control and data loggers dedicated to quality control," explains Alessandro Franci, Sales Manager at CEIA. In this interview, he discusses how the company is responding to changes in the industry, including automation, energy efficiency, and new markets.

Integration into automated production lines

At wire & Tube Düsseldorf, CEIA showcased new developments in both hardware and software.

"There is a growing demand for integrating induction heating systems into automated manufacturing processes. For this reason, CEIA generators are equipped with all the necessary analog, digital, and fieldbus interfaces required to communicate with the PLCs of automated production lines."

Energy efficiency and intelligent control

Rising and volatile energy costs have made efficiency one of the main selection criteria for induction heating systems.

"The market is demanding systems that deliver increasingly higher energy efficiency. CEIA generators achieve an efficiency greater than 96%, but the real distinguishing feature is the control software developed in-house in our laboratories, which enables us to optimize the performance of the induction heating system to the highest possible level."

The proprietary software automatically manages generator operation, optimizing energy transfer according to operating conditions. Franci continues:

"Thanks to the Dynamic function, the generator automatically configures its internal parameters, adapting the coupling circuit to real-time load variations. This dramatically reduces machine setup times and maximizes energy transfer, eliminating the waste typically associated with systems that require manual adjustments."

Defense, aerospace industries and the demand for customized solutions

Globally, CEIA is experiencing growing demand from high-tech industrial sectors.

"Industries such as defense and aerospace are driving demand for cutting-edge products, creating an environment that fully supports CEIA's development philosophy. At the same time, there is increasing demand for highly customized solutions designed to meet each customer's specific requirements."

According to Franci, the ability to directly control every stage of production is a significant competitive advantage.

"Thanks to complete control of our production chain, we are able to meet even the most specific customer requirements by developing customized solutions without compromising our high quality standards."

The outlook for induction heating systems

Looking ahead to the coming years, Franci expects new applications for induction heating to emerge.

"New application opportunities will certainly continue to develop. The manufacturing industry will need to become increasingly responsive to technological change. What matters is not predicting change, but adapting to it quickly. CEIA will continue investing in innovation and in the growth of its human capital to maintain its position as Italy's leader in high-quality engineering."

Upcoming trade shows

The second half of the year will seeCEIA take part in an intensive international trade show schedule. In September, the company will exhibit at AMB in Stuttgart, IMTS in Chicago, and Coiltech Italia in Pordenone. In October, it will participate in The Battery Show Detroit and FABTECH in Las Vegas in the United States, while in Italy it will also exhibit at BI-MU Milan.
