Mollificio Romagnoli boosts production capacity by 20% with new Kamatech H45T grinding machine

Mollificio Romagnoli boosts production capacity by 20% with new Kamatech H45T grinding machine

A new technology investment for Mollificio Romagnoli: on October 15, 2026, the company welcomed a new Kamatech H45T spring grinding machine, meant to strengthen a continuously expanding department, bringing the total number of grinding machines in its fleet to 19 and increasing production capacity by 20%.

Shorter lead times and large-batch production

The expansion of the department allows Mollificio Romagnoli to respond more flexibly to market demand, with the possibility of reducing lead times and producing large batches. Automatic loaders designed and developed in-house also play an important role.

Spring grinding: dual head and diamond wheels for superior quality

The new Kamatech H45T is designed to grind springs made from wire diameters ranging from 0.5 to 2.5 mm. Its dual-head configuration distributes the grinding load across two pairs of wheels, limiting spring overheating and improving process control and the quality of the finished product.

The machine also features diamond grinding wheels, a technology that Mollificio Romagnoli has been progressively refining thanks to the experience gained over the years. This is the fourth machine in the company’s fleet to use diamond wheels, which contribute to improving grinding quality and production efficiency.

Industry 4.0 integration and future investments

The new grinding machine is also an Industry 4.0 machine, interconnected with the company’s ERP and MES management systems to monitor the status of the equipment and the production process in real time.

Since this is the company’s second Kamatech H45T, it can also reuse existing tooling, making integration into the grinding department easier.

And the expansion is set to continue: Mollificio Romagnoli expects to install another spring grinding machine between late 2026 and early 2027.
