Mesh, fences, and gratings: a new industrial project for Nuova Defim Orsogril
In recent weeks, the company has been involved in an important project at CIM4.0, the competence center established by the University of Turin (Italy) and the city’s Polytechnic University, together with 23 industrial partners operating mainly in the aerospace, automotive, and energy sectors, as well as in the R&D for the production of manufacturing systems and the innovation of industrial processes.
The CIM4.0 – Competence Industry Manufacturing 4.0 – is a technology transfer hub specializing in the digitalization of manufacturing processes, from the use of virtual and augmented reality to the development of production systems’ digital twin, from the use of artificial intelligence in robotics to the development of methods for predictive maintenance, and much more. Significant relevance is also given to metal additive manufacturing, particularly with the powder bed technique and the direct material deposition technique.
Nuova Defim has been collaborating with CIM4.0 since late 2019: this year, the company has provided the venue with a modular structure for the walls of the digital pilot line able to adapt to the different steps of the technology transfer process. The choice could only be Utilior grating, designed and manufactured by the Italian company. About 100 panels of Utilior pressed grating 33x66mm and 30x3mm (both regular and shaped panels) create a unique and high-impact result, offering an even more immersive experience for all participants.
