Nuova Defim Orsogril to participate in the reconstruction of the Genoa bridge
Nuova Defim Orsogril is proud to announce its participation in the construction works of a new prestigious bridge in Genoa. The new viaduct rises from the ashes of the infamous Morandi Bridge, tragically collapsed on August 14, 2018.
The Italian company will produce the grating that will be used on-site by the joint venture between Fincantieri and Salini Impregilo. The over 5,000 panels of Potissimum will cover the 1067 meters of the structure's overall length.
The majestic bridge, designed by Renzo Piano, will consist of 67,000 cubic meters of concrete and 24,000 tons of metalwork (equal to 3 times the weight of the Eiffel Tower) and will have an overall height (underground and exposed) of 1,500 meters, almost doubling the height of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.
"We like to think of each panel as an encouraging word to all Italian companies who are facing the hard consequences of the pandemic lockdown", states the staff of Nuova Defim Orsogril.
Specifically, the paving of the two pedestrian walkways on both side of the road will be made using the company's 22x77 mm electro-welded steel gratings and 70x3 mm framed and shaped panels, all co-designed by the Technical Office of Nuova Defim and Fincantieri Infrastructure SpA.
