High temperature marking tags

Traceability of iron and steel products is a requirement consolidated in the sector. The material identification in normal situations (cold-working or at reduced temperature) is easily solved with conventional tags and machinery. In hostile environments with high temperatures or very aggressive chemical treatments, it is essential to use special advanced materials and equipment, as regards the printing type as well as automatic detection of data. As regards the bar codes, the materials used are those identified as TYPE 1D (linear code), or more advanced DATA MATRIX 2D (two-dimensional code). The two-dimensional codes have the advantage of containing more information in reduced areas and they are more reliable than linear codes for marking and reading in harsh environments.

Our Company has been present, for more than 40 years, in the steel industries and foundries market with the production of metal and plastic tags. In the last years we developed a new steel and ceramics plate to solve the marking problems in high temperature environments. Such plates are differentiated into different types depending on which should be subjected to medium or high temperatures (up to over 1.000°C) with harsh environmental conditions.
