Modula and Innovio: new event on vertical lift modules integrated with Microsoft Business Central

Modula and Innovio: new event on vertical lift modules integrated with Microsoft Business Central

On November 4, at the venue on Viale Pasubio 21, Milan, a operational simulation will showcase the benefits of integrating ERP systems with warehouse automation. Just a few months after the June debut, the new event hosted by Modula and Innovio will also explore agentic AI in the supply chain.

Synchronized data, greater control over intralogistics flows, and real-time, two-way communication between warehouse management software and enterprise resource planning systems: these are the key benefits of the partnership between Modula and Innovio, which enables native integration of automated vertical lift modules into Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central processes.

Just a few months after its debut in June, the solution will take center stage at a new presentation on Wednesday, November 4, at Microsoft Italy's offices in Milan. Companial will also attend the event. The network brings together Microsoft Dynamics partners from across Europe, connecting them to share expertise, solutions, and opportunities.

The November 4 event program in Milan

The event, "Connected Warehouse, Simplified Business," will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Viale Pasubio 21. Following the June event at the Modula Experience Centre in Fiorano Modenese, this new gathering will offer a new opportunity to explore the solutions and engage with the technical and sales teams.

The program will include a Microsoft presentation focusing on agentic AI in the supply chain, a Business Central demo, an overview of Modula's solutions, and a simulation of the workflow from the ERP system to the automated warehouse. A Q&A session (at 1:00 p.m.), networking opportunities, a coffee break, and lunch are also scheduled.

The presentations will also be available via live streaming >>

Modula Connector: how ERP and automated warehouse integration works

At the heart of the partnership is Modula Connector, an application developed by Innovio that integrates Modula's WMS with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. It is the only solution of its kind available on Microsoft Marketplace.

Specifically, warehouse documents generated in the ERP system are transferred to the automated warehouse. Once operations are completed, Business Central receives information on the quantities handled, lot numbers, serial numbers, and the entries required to update the process. The integration maps Modula categories to Business Central bins and allows users to configure locations, parameters, endpoints, and automated processes. Dedicated logs and status indicators make it possible to verify data exchanges, monitor activities, and identify any anomalies.

Physical inventory management is also part of the same workflow. Modula Connector compares stock levels recorded in Business Central with those held in Modula systems, highlights any discrepancies, and supports subsequent inventory adjustments, reducing inconsistencies between ERP records and actual warehouse stock availability.

Available on Microsoft Marketplace, Modula Connector by Innovio is Microsoft-certified, confirming its quality and compatibility with Business Central and the Microsoft ecosystem. The user experience remains consistent with the ERP system already in use by companies.

"The value of an automated solution increases when the warehouse communicates effectively with a company's management systems. With this integration, Modula strengthens its ability to incorporate its automated storage systems into customers' digital processes, delivering tangible benefits in terms of efficiency, traceability, and operational control," Modula representatives explain.

"With Modula Connector, we bring more comprehensive management of warehouse flows associated with Modula automated storage systems directly into Business Central. Our goal is to simplify day-to-day operations, reduce manual steps, and make information exchange between the ERP system and the warehouse more reliable. Maintaining a consistent Business Central user experience also makes it easier for companies to adopt the new features," Innovio representatives add.

The integration thus extends Business Central's capabilities to automated warehouse operations, maintaining continuity between physical processes and digital management.
