“Driving Innovation in wire drawing.” Interview with Edgardo Vago, Pan Chemicals Spa

Pan Chemicals is preparing to meet the international wire drawing market at wire Düsseldorf 2026, where it will showcase a comprehensive range of lubricants and chemical products. In a manufacturing landscape increasingly focused on process stability and the reduction of environmental impact, the company is concentrating on performance optimization and the development of high-efficiency formulations.
We spoke with Edgardo Vago, international business manager of Pan Chemicals Spa, about the company’s main areas of focus for the event, including the evolution of its product range, commercial strategies, and objectives for 2026.
Wire drawing products and solutions
Which solutions will you present at the exhibition?
We will present our complete range of lubricants and chemical products for wire production. Our core business remains the production of dry drawing powder lubricants, both calcium-based and sodium-based, designed for applications on low, medium and high-carbon steels, as well as stainless steels. In addition to lubricants, we will also showcase our solutions for the different stages of wire surface preparation, including: precoating and phosphating systems, degreasing and industrial cleaning products, pickling inhibitors, fluxes for galvanizing, and anti-corrosion products. A complete package designed to improve process stability, surface quality and production efficiency.
Research and development: new formulations
What product developments and research activities are you focusing on?
We continue to work on optimizing the performance of our drawing lubricants, with the aim of ensuring consistent working conditions and reliable results even in the most demanding production environments. In recent years we have strengthened our R&D activities, focusing in a specific direction: to develop products that maintain high technical performance while reducing environmental impact.
Process innovation and investments
Are you also investing in production processes?
Yes, for us innovation does not only concern lubricant formulations, but also the optimization of production processes and the improvement of operational efficiency. We continue to invest in both areas, with the aim of offering state-of-the-art solutions, capable of meeting the needs of modern wire drawing plants.
Presence in international markets
What are your strategic priorities for international markets?
Our company has always had a strong international focus and commercial expansion remains a constant priority. We are present in many markets and aim to further consolidate and expand this presence. The current global geopolitical situation can sometimes create difficulties or limitations, pushing us to redirect our efforts towards other regions. However, our ambition to be competitive globally does not change.
wire Düsseldorf 2026: strategy and expectations
How important is wire Düsseldorf in this strategy?
It’s the most important global event for the wire industry and for us it represents an essential opportunity to meet customers from all over the world, strengthen existing relationships and develop new commercial opportunities. In an international economic environment characterized by significant uncertainty, face-to-face meetings like this become even more valuable: they allow us to better understand producers’ needs and interpret market developments.
Pan Chemicals’ objectives for 2026
What are the main objectives you have set for this year?
We want to continue strengthening the group's international presence, while maintaining a strong focus on quality and technical support. In a year that looks set to be complex in many respects, the compass remains the same: to stay close to our customers and offer solutions that help them work with greater efficiency and stability.
We thank Edgardo Vago for his time and for sharing these insights. Pan Chemicals looks forward to welcoming visitors at wire Düsseldorf 2026, Hall 9 – Stand B05, from April 13 to 17, with its commercial and technical team. At the booth, Pan Chemicals Italy will be represented together with its subsidiaries Pan Chemicals Bosphorus (Turkey) and Pan Chemicals Americas (Mexico), as well as a network of agents and distributors active across various markets.
