Condoroil presents ELETTRA CPL, a new pickling plant for coils
ELETTRA series, designed by Condoroil for the electrolytic pickling of stainless steel, is enriched by model ELETTRA CPL for pickling of coils on annealing lines in continuous. Exploiting the technical knowledge and experience gained in developing pickling plants in continuous for tubes, this new unit presents big innovations compared to the usual technology used for this purpose:
- Possibility to implement the group of cells in existing tanks
- A particular drawing of the cells, which allows to dramatically reduce the dissipated current.
Cells of the ELETTRA CPL unit allow to exploit, almost totally, the supplied current reducing to minimum values the electrical consumption and to obtain surfaces almost pickled already at the exit of the electrolytic tank. This means
also a reduced consumption of the acids used in the last chemical section. An important help in reduction of electrical consumption is also granted by the use of Condoroil's DESCALINOX P 23. This product, sulfuric acid based, has, indeed, an extremely high conductivity that allows to keep electrodes at a safety distance even operating at medium voltage.
Use of DESCALINOX P 23 allows, moreover, in comparison to the simple sulfuric acid, to focus the action of metal dissolution of the surface roughness by improving the final aspect. The product can be regenerated in continuous by the acid retardation units RESIBED.
