Stainless steel pickling - Patent pending for Condoroil's Descalinox TPF
The Condoroil Group, specializing in pickling chemicals, treatment agents and lubricants, requested a patent for DESCALINOX TPF (which stand for Toxic Plus Free), the new pickling range derived from the need to totally or partially eliminate the hydrofluoric acid from stainless steel pickling baths (TOX 1 category - CE n.1272/2008 Regulation) and substitute it with TOX 2 category products, thus increasing the stocking capability of the product from 5 to 50 ton (threshold step from TOX 1 to TOX 2).
Furthermore, by using particular additives which act as activators etching the oxides, the product guarantees faster pickling compared to the normally used one (DESCALINOX TPF FAST). This allows to process very difficult materials (such as duplex, super duplex, alloy for electrodes etc.) in shorter time and therefore to be able to face an increase in orders without modifying existing plants.
