Lukas Anlagenbau to showcase taping technology for small-wire applications

From 13 to 17 April 2026, the international wire and cable industry will once again gather in Düsseldorf for wire & Tube Düsseldorf. Among the exhibitors, LUKAS Anlagenbau GmbH will showcase its solutions for cable manufacturing at Hall 12 / Stand B32.
Based in Vohenstrauß, Bavaria, the family-owned company has been developing custom-built equipment for the wire and cable industry since 1959. Its portfolio includes complete taping lines as well as individual components such as pay-offs, capstans, caterpillars, sintering ovens and take-ups. Lukas also supplies complete rewinding lines, fine wire drawing machines for non-ferrous materials and electroplating systems, supporting different stages of cable production.
Live demonstration of a taping line for small wires
At its stand, the company will present a complete taping line equipped with a single taping head for small wires. The line will run live during the exhibition, allowing visitors to observe the process under real operating conditions.
A key feature of the system is the direct-drive tape tension control, which generates tape tension without conventional mechanical transmission systems. This design enables very precise and stable tension control, particularly important in the production of high-frequency cables, where extremely low tape tension is required to maintain insulation quality and consistent wrapping.
The live demonstration will give cable manufacturers the opportunity to evaluate the machine’s performance and explore its advantages for the processing of delicate conductors and specialized insulation materials.
Equipment solutions for advanced cable production
Beyond taping technology, Lukas Anlagenbau develops equipment designed to meet the requirements of modern wire and cable manufacturing. Its taping systems can process a wide range of materials, including PTFE, Kapton, mica, paper and metal tapes, commonly used in the production of high-performance cables.
These technologies are used in the manufacturing of special cables for sectors such as medical technology, aerospace and power applications, where precise process control and reliable insulation performance are essential.
Visitors interested in taping systems and integrated cable production solutions are invited to meet the Lukas team at Hall 12 / Stand B32 during wire & Tube 2026.
