Maillefer expands BCA Caterpillar family for heavy-duty cable production

Maillefer has announced two new models in its BCA Caterpillar family, developed to meet the growing demand for higher pulling forces in large and heavy cable manufacturing. As cable dimensions and weights continue to increase across energy, infrastructure, and high-capacity transmission applications, manufacturers require more powerful and efficient pulling solutions to ensure stable production processes.
Higher traction force for demanding cable applications
Previous Maillefer caterpillar pullers offered up to 50 kN of pulling force, often requiring two units for the most demanding cable applications. To address this challenge, the company has unveiled two new high-performance models: the BCA 33 HD and the BCA 42 HD.
The BCA 33 HD delivers up to 60 kN of traction force, while the BCA 42 HD reaches up to 80 kN. Both solutions are designed for heavy-duty cable manufacturing and enable manufacturers to handle larger cable dimensions with a single machine.
Key benefits for cable manufacturers
- Up to 80 kN traction force for heavy-duty cable applications
- Reduced need for multiple pullers along the production line
- Lower maintenance requirements and operating costs
- Improved process stability for large and heavy cables
- More efficient line configuration and production layout
- Expanded production capabilities for high-value cable applications
Supporting the future of cable production
With the upcoming expansion of the BCA Caterpillar family, Maillefer continues to support cable manufacturers facing increasing production demands in energy, infrastructure, and high-capacity transmission markets. The new HD models combine high traction performance with simplified production management, helping manufacturers improve efficiency while handling heavier cable constructions.
