PS Costruzioni Meccaniche recently completed the successful testing of two lines for a renowned cable manufacturer based in Romania: the first one is an automatic coiling line model PS 350/8-3 while the second is a rewinding line, model LR 2500-2500.

Coiling and rewinding lines: performance and configuration

The automatic coiling line PS 350/8-3 is designed to meet various production requirements. It can process flexible cables up to a maximum diameter of 8 mm, and rigid cables up to 4.5 mm.

This model is particularly suitable for building wires. When equipped with a double pay-off (défilé type), the line can produce up to six 100-meter coils per minute, depending on the cable cross-section. The line includes a coil labeling system, an automatic palletizer, and an automatic pallet wrapper.

The rewinding line LR 2500-2500 is suitable for round cables with diameters ranging from 8 mm to 80 mm. The line features quality control devices, including a spark tester and a lump detector.

It can handle reels with diameters from 1250 mm to 2500 mm. Meter counting is managed by a laser length counter, ensuring a length accuracy of ±0.05%. Notably, this rewinding line uses a special adjustable cable guide arm that moves back and forth on linear bearings. This motion, relative to the reel diameter used with the take up, positions the cable guide as close as possible to the reel flange, ensuring excellent winding layer quality.
