PS Costruzioni Meccaniche delivers new automatic double-head spooling line

PS Costruzioni Meccaniche has recently delivered an automatic double-head spooling line, MOD. PS 250/6-2B, to one of the world’s largest cable manufacturers.

The distinctive feature of this line, compared with standard solutions, is the ability to produce two different packaging solutions:

1. Single wrapped and labeled spools
2. Wrapped up and labeled spools automatically placed inside boxes (either 2 or 4 spools per box).

In both cases, an automatic palletizing unit positions the final products on pallets and then an automatic pallet wrapper applies a stretch film.

The operator can choose the desired packaging solution through a selector.

This line is equipped with complete cable quality & control instrumentation, including a Spark tester, lump detector, and a laser meter counter with an accuracy of ± 0.05%.
Additionally, this line includes a weighing device that checks each spool and box weight before sending them to the palletizer. In case of weight discrepancies with the pre-set parameters, the non-conforming spool or box is ejected automatically without stopping production.
