Case study: Rosendahl's high-speed equipment for the production of cables at Ukrainian ZFNM
ZFNM, that is Zaporozhye Factory of Non-Ferrous Metals, was founded in 1991 in Ukraina. Its cables are characterized by very high quality, which has made them popular in various countries, such as the UK, Germany, Turkey, Poland, Italy, France, and more. What's special about this factory is the use of the full production cycle, including the primary production of top-quality oxygen-free copper wire rods.
In 2021, Austria's Rosendahl, the well-known cable equipment manufacturer, was called upon to provide ZFNM with a high-speed insulation line and a sheath line for their production of LAN cables.
Since the range of cables produced at ZFNM is extremely wide, the request was to provide machines able to change product type, diameter, etc. in the easiest and fastest way possible.
Rosendahl responded to this request with a tailor-made insulation line consisting of in-line wire drawing with integrated pre-heating and an extruder group with four extruders. The sheath line supplied by Rosendahl can process standard LAN cables and figure 8 cables. Shielding foil and separating foil can be applied in-line.
Rosendahl’s Integrated Line Control RIO keeps the entire production process under control, monitoring the parameters at each stage of the production.
