Rosendahl Nextrom awarded for AI-driven Twinax insulation process

Rosendahl Nextrom has received the Austrian State Prize for Innovation, the country’s highest recognition for research and development excellence, for an advanced manufacturing process dedicated to Twinax cable insulation. The award was presented on November 12 in Vienna by Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer, Federal Minister for Economy, Energy, and Tourism.

The jury honored the project “AI-enhanced manufacturing process for Twinax cables”, highlighting its potential to set new industry benchmarks in high-speed data transmission and data center efficiency.

Process innovation at the core of Twinax performance

At the core of the awarded solution is a manufacturing process that combines high-temperature foam extrusion with an AI-based process controller. This integration enables insulation quality previously unattainable with conventional approaches, specifically developed to meet the extreme requirements of modern data centers and AI supercomputing systems.

According to the jury, the solution represents a “key technology with the potential to become an industry standard,” as it supports ultra-high-speed data transmission with minimal latency while reducing both energy and material consumption.

According to Rosendahl Nextrom, the award is “more than just a prize — it recognizes the passion, teamwork, and engineering excellence that went into developing this solution.”

Recognition for engineering excellence and Austrian innovation

Rosendahl Nextrom’s high-temperature foam extrusion lines for Twinax cable insulation are already used by leading cable manufacturers worldwide. With the Austrian State Prize for Innovation 2025, the company further strengthens its position as a technology and solution provider for cable manufacturing.

The award also sends a clear signal for “Made in Austria” as a benchmark for innovation and quality on a global scale.
