WTM to introduce a new high-speed full back twisting cable stranding machine
WTM is about to complete the assembly and wiring of a brand-new piece of equipment: a high-speed full back twisting stranding line for the production of flexible special cables with a diameter ranging from 0.5 to 1.5 mm. These cables are commonly used to build probes and sensors for industrial use.
Let’s take a closer look at it. Shall we?
The line is composed of 2 triple back twist pay-offs and 1 single back twist pay-off, for a total of 7 DIN 400 reels, and a single-twist stranding machine for winding up the finished cable on DIN 630 reels. The cable making process is performed at extremely high speed and in full back twisting, with pay-offs and take-ups working at 1000 RPM. This is to ensure the cables have the maximum flexibility. The line can also be integrated with 2 longitudinal taping machines for shielding the conductors, therefore providing a complete solution covering the entire production process.
Tension control is a decisive factor for product quality, even more so for primary cables with a diameter ranging from 0.5 to 1.5 mm such as the ones involved in these applications. Fortunately, thanks to the tried-and-tested electronic adjustment system, one of the strongest selling points of WTM machines, the cable tension can be controlled and managed in a neat and precise way.
